The Mid Sussex Lodge (no 7642) was formed on 22 September 1959. Our immediate parent lodge is Ockenden Lodge which dates from 1874. We are a craft lodge that meets at the Birch Hotel, Haywards Heath, RH17 7SF on the third Thursday in January, March, May, September (installation) and November each year. We are a lodge known for our fun and friendly atmosphere and warm welcome.
The quick answer is that Freemasonry is a fraternal organisation.
The longer answer is that Freemasonry means different things to different people. It can be a great way to make new friends and acquaintances, enjoy a good meal, contribute to charity or get involved with masonic amateur dramatics!
At Mid Sussex Lodge, as well as the normal masonic meetings which you can find at every lodge, we also have regular social events which are non-masonic in nature. Recently, these have included a fish and chip outing on the Bluebell Railway. Curry nights are always popular!
You can discover more about Freemasonry on the websites of the United Grand Lodge of England and the Provincial Grand Lodge of Sussex. Also the Wikipedia article on Freemasonry.
If you would like to join Mid Sussex Lodge, why not contact us using the Contact form on this page. We would love to hear from you and you can be assured of a very warm welcome.
